Replace the old filters with new ones.
Step 2Open the equipment panel and inspect. Verify crankcase heaters are warm to the touch on the exterior.
Step 3Inspect for loose/dirty connections, scorching, or damage. Use a blower to clean. Tighten all terminal screws.
Step 4Roll belt to inspect wear; note if replacement is needed next PM. Spin motor and blower; listen/feel for bearing noise or play. Check pulley condition/alignment. Record supply fan motor amp draw (compare to nameplate). Close the panel.
Step 5Check condenser/evaporator fan motor shafts for slop, abnormal noise, or oil residue.
Step 6Run AC and evaluate cooling. Record compressor(s) and condenser fan amp draw (must be under nameplate); measure supply and return air temperatures to get delta-T; confirm suction line gets cold and condenser discharges heat.
Step 7Record condenser discharge air temperature (warmer than ambient) and supply air temperature at the duct (significantly cooler than return; note outdoor air influence if applicable).
Step 8Inspect the coils. Decide if coil cleaning should be scheduled for the next PM; identify a safe water source if cleaning will be needed.
Step 9
